Terms of Service

These Terms form the agreement between you and VANI when you use our app and website. By creating an account, you're agreeing to them. If something doesn't make sense, just ask at hello@vani.is.

Who can use VANI

VANI is designed for families. Whoever creates the account and accepts these Terms has to be at least 18, because that is the age at which you can enter an agreement like this one in Iceland and across the Nordics.

Everyone else in a family takes part through that adult. A child can have a managed profile with no login of their own, and an older child can be invited to their own login on their own phone. Either way, the adult who owns the family stays responsible for how it is used.

When you create a child profile, you confirm you are that child's parent or legal guardian.

The age of 13 mentioned in our Privacy Policy is a separate question. It comes from data protection law and decides only who we ask about sharing usage data.

Beta testing

VANI is currently in beta. That means the app is a work in progress. Some things may not work perfectly, and features may change. We may migrate data to new infrastructure during this phase. In the rare event that user data needs to be reset, we will notify affected users in advance. We appreciate your patience and your feedback.

Subscriptions and payments

VANI may offer a paid subscription. All payments go through Apple App Store or Google Play. We don't handle your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage your subscription in your device's store settings at any time.

Each family gets one 14-day free trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, your subscription starts automatically at the price shown when you subscribe. You'll see a reminder before it converts.

Your account

Keep your login details secure. You're responsible for activity on your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, let us know at hello@vani.is right away. You can delete your account at any time in the app settings.

What we ask of you

Please don't use VANI in ways that would harm others or break the law: no attempting to access other users' accounts, no reverse engineering the app, no misrepresenting who you are.

Intellectual property

VANI's design, code, and branding belong to us. Your data and your routines belong to you. We only use your content to provide the service.

Liability

VANI is a habit and routine tool, not a medical, therapeutic, or clinical service. We provide it on an "as is" basis, especially during beta. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits rights you have under Icelandic consumer law.

App Store terms

If you downloaded VANI from the Apple App Store, this agreement is between you and VANI, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support. If you're on Google Play, the same applies with Google.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by Icelandic law. If you're an EU/EEA consumer, you can also rely on the mandatory consumer protection laws of your own country. Most issues are best sorted by just emailing us first.
